Aggies now have a new place for “celebration, relaxation and inspiration”: Aggie Park. The new 20-acre green space in the heart of campus, which had its kickoff event this September, aims to be an “outdoor Memorial Student Center” for studying, tailgating, entertaining and more. The Association of Former Students is overseeing planning and fundraising from private donors for the park.
Highlights include water features, an outdoor amphitheater, a performance pavilion, public Wi-Fi, dedicated media utilities for national broadcasts, permanent Distinguished Alumni recognition and improved infrastructure. In an upcoming second phase of construction, a new Association building will be completed to house the Aggie Ring Program and provide functional space for Aggie Ring Day and other events.
“Aggie Park is a space that recognizes the past, embraces the future and helps enable the continued unique blend of Aggie values to thrive,” said Texas A&M Foundation President and CEO Tyson Voelkel ’96.
