No matter how accustomed you may become, some of life’s rarities simply command attention. On a recent walk across campus, I found my gaze drawn toward a familiar sight that garnered a newfound perspective. As I glanced at its evergreen beauty, our university’s beloved Century Tree and its unwavering stature inspired me.

I found it hard not to watch students pass by its limbs without imagining the decades of wisdom the iconic tree must have seen. This firmly planted, living tradition has withstood the test of time and is a monumental marker in the scenes of countless Aggie stories. It’s where generations of unions begin, Ross Volunteers slowly march and pay respects at Silver Taps, and relationships and values are nurtured and endure forever.

In our summer 2024 issue of Heritage, we shed light on the many ways planned gifts can embrace your distinct values and circumstances, offering a vast roadmap of philanthropic possibilities for your estate that can provide personal benefits while also impacting Aggieland. Just like the unique branches on our ever-flourishing Century Tree, we recognize our donors’ individuality and strive to provide giving methods that complement their aspirations, solve financial challenges, and take care of the ones they love while simultaneously achieving our organization’s unique mission.

As I once heard a wise youth pastor say, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” Together, we plant the seeds for a brighter future.

Thanks for all you do.
