Don Lewis has supported numerous Texas A&M organizations, including Fish Camp, and was honored as a namesake in 2016.

This unsung Aggie hero who has worked quietly but with great impact for nearly 20 years, first as a lecturer and now as an executive professor at Mays Business School. Don Lewis is the co-founder and assistant director of Startup Aggieland, Texas A&M’s globally recognized, multidisciplinary business accelerator that has enabled 53 startups to raise a combined 8 million dollars.

He coached the Aggies’ TriFusion Team to a first-place finish at the world's largest and most lucrative business plan competition, where they took home 400 thousand dollars in cash and prizes for their 3-D printed prosthetics.

In addition to the eight classes he teaches on campus, Don travels to the University of Batangas each summer to share knowledge with college students in the Philippines. And he marked a significant milestone for Texas A&M when he created our first study-abroad trip to Cuba, where he formed an official affiliation with the University of Havana.

A proud supporter of our armed forces, he steps up to assist soldiers and veterans enrolled at Texas A&M through creative initiatives, including the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Wounded Veterans. Don co-founded and serves as president of Brazos Valley Cares, a nonprofit that supports wounded warriors.

He’s a generous supporter of the Big Event and many other A&M student organizations, and was recognized as with the 2013 Koldus Faculty and Staff Achievement Award and as a 2016 Fish Camp Namesake!

You will find this humble but maroon-blooded Aggie professor at nearly every game in Kyle Field, and even though he’s going to be mad at his staff for submitting this nomination, the Texas A&M Foundation joins the entire Aggie family in honoring Don Lewis ’86 …… today’s Aggie Bugle Call!
